Marine Scientist at Geoscience Australia

Aero Leplastrier has extensive work experience in the field of policy and marine science. Since April 2022, Aero has been working as a Senior Policy Officer at the Department of Climate Change, Energy, the Environment and Water. Prior to this, Aero worked at Geoscience Australia from January 2017, where they held the position of Marine Scientist. In this role, Aero was involved in various professional achievements such as being awarded the Fostering Positive Organizational Culture team award and presenting at international conferences. Their responsibilities included program design and delivery for the AusSeabed initiative, stakeholder management, strategic communication, logistics, program support, and agile project management.

Aero Leplastrier pursued their education in the field of Geological and Earth Sciences/Geosciences. From 2011 to 2015, they attended The Australian National University and obtained a Bachelor of Philosophy (Honours) in Science. In 2014, they also briefly studied at The University of British Columbia as part of their Bachelor of Philosophy (Honours) program.
