Amy Peterson

Team Lead - GNSS Infrastructure Development And Maintenance at Geoscience Australia

Amy Peterson has a diverse and extensive work experience spanning several industries. Amy started their career as a Survey Assistant at Hydro Tasmania in 2000 before moving on to various positions such as Surveyor and GIS Officer at Launceston City Council in 2002 and Graduate Surveyor and GIS Analyst at Hydro Tasmania in 2003.

Amy then worked as an Office Manager at Dynamic Satellite Surveys from 2006 to 2008, where they also took on the role of GIS Project Manager and Surveyor. Following this, they joined GHD as a Surveyor from 2008 to 2009.

In 2009, they joined the Northern Territory Government and held multiple roles during their tenure. Amy began as a Surveyor from 2009 to 2010 before becoming a GNSS CORS Manager from 2010 to 2014. Finally, they served as a Senior Surveyor specializing in Geodetic and Positioning Infrastructure from 2014 to 2018.

Amy'smost recent role has been at Geoscience Australia, where they are currently working as the Team Lead for GNSS Infrastructure Development and Maintenance. Amy Peterson has demonstrated expertise in surveying, GIS, and geodetic positioning across their various roles throughout their career.

Amy Peterson completed their Tasmanian Certificate of Education at Guilford Young College in Hobart from 1997 to 1998. Amy then went on to study at the University of Tasmania, where they earned a Bachelor of Geomatics in Surveying and Spatial Information Science from 1999 to 2002. In 2003, Amy pursued an Honours degree in Geomatics from the University of Tasmania. Amy later obtained a Graduate Certificate in Spatial Information Science from the University of Southern Queensland in 2009.
