Garrick Larkin

Director Engagement, Commercial And Legal at Geoscience Australia

Garrick Larkin has a strong background in legal and commercial roles. Garrick started their career as a Policy Adviser at the Australian Government Department of Finance in 2006. In 2008, they joined the Australian Government Solicitor as a Lawyer. In 2012, they transitioned to the Crimtrac Agency, where they held various legal and procurement roles at EL1 and EL2 levels, including Director Legal and Commercial. During their time at Crimtrac, they led the legal and procurement functions and was instrumental in the merger with the ACC to form the ACIC. Garrick also won Crimtrac's Innovation award. In 2017, Garrick joined the Australian National Audit Office as a Senior Director - Legal Services, where they built a successful legal and policy advising function. Garrick provided high-quality legal advice on a wide range of matters and received recognition for their work, including winning an Auditor-General's Outstanding Achievement Award. Most recently, they joined Geoscience Australia in 2021 as the Director of Engagement, Commercial and Legal.

Garrick Larkin completed a Bachelor of Commerce degree with a major in finance from The Australian National University from 2000 to 2005. Subsequently, they pursued a Bachelor of Laws degree (LLB) from the same institution, which they completed from 2002 to 2005. In 2007, Garrick also obtained a Graduate Diploma of Legal Practice from The Australian National University.
