Leanne McMahon

Leanne McMahon's work experience begins in 1999 as a Corporate Design Manager at Geospatial Applications and Visualisation. Leanne then moved on to the Critical Infrastructure Project, where they worked as a Technical Communications Manager and later as a Tasking & Assurance Manager. In 2010, Leanne joined the Risk Impact Analysis Group as a Communication Manager, developing communication programs and stakeholder engagement strategies. Leanne then worked at the Earth monitoring and Natural Hazards Group as a Communications & Stakeholder Engagement Manager. From 2012 to 2014, Leanne served as a Communication Manager at the National Flood Risk Information Project. Following this, they worked at Geoscience Australia as a Corporate Information Manager. Leanne's roles at Geoscience Australia include Education Programs Manager, Director (A/g) of Discovery & Engagement, Manager of Education Programs, and Manager of Client & Visitor Services. Currently, they work at Geoscience Australia as a Project Manager for the Digital Earth Australia program.

Leanne McMahon has a diverse education history spanning several institutions and fields of study. In 1986-1987, they pursued a Diploma of Arts in Graphic Design at both Canberra TAFE and Canberra College of Advanced Education. Following this, from 2000 to 2003, Leanne attended the Canberra Institute of Technology, earning a Diploma of Communication & Media in the field of Public Relations. Lastly, from 2002 to 2004, they studied at the University of Canberra to obtain a Master of Internet Communications, specializing in Communications.
