Toktam Ebadi has a diverse work experience in the field of data analysis and engineering. Toktam started their career as a Doctoral Student/Java developer at the University of Otago in 2007. Toktam then worked as a Research Scientist at Victoria University of Wellington where they designed and developed a data mining tool for classifying image patterns. Toktam utilized machine learning techniques and feature extraction methods for this project.
In 2012, Toktam became a Visiting Research Fellow at the Australian National University. Here, they researched and developed a data mining framework for identifying patterns related to the occurrence of breast cancer, using machine learning techniques like Learning Classifier Systems (LCS) and Neural Networks.
Toktam further expanded their expertise as a Scientific Programmer at the Department of Nuclear Physics, Australian National University from 2013 to 2014.
In 2014, Toktam joined Seeing Machines as an Analytics Engineer. In this role, they developed a framework for big data analysis using Python libraries and various statistical techniques. Toktam later became a Senior Algorithm Performance Engineer at the same company, where they continued to contribute to data analysis and signal development.
Following their time at Seeing Machines, Toktam worked as a Data Modelling Specialist at Commonwealth Treasury from 2019 to 2020.
Currently, they hold the position of Senior Big Data Engineer at Geoscience Australia, starting from 2020.
Toktam Ebadi has a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) degree in Computer Software Engineering from the University of Otago. Toktam also holds a Bachelor's degree in Computer Software Engineering from Mashhad University.
In addition to their academic degrees, Toktam Ebadi has obtained several certifications. In June 2016, they completed a Machine Learning course and received a certificate from Coursera Course Certificates. In March 2015, they became a certified Scrum Master through the Scrum Alliance. In the same year, they also completed an Introductory Course for ISO/IEC 15504 and Automotive SPICE from the Software Quality Institute, Griffith University. Furthermore, in 2014, they received training in Multi and Integrity from Green Hills Software.
