Alberto Arboit, Ph.D., is a postdoctoral researcher at the German Center for Neurodegenerative Diseases (DZNE) since April 2016, focusing on the impact of the cholinergic system on BOLD responses through deep brain stimulation. Previously, Alberto served as a PhD candidate in both the Cognitive Neurophysiology Group and the Mercator Research Group's Neural Dynamics Lab, exploring the mechanisms of persistent firing in hippocampal neurons and the role of TRPC channels. Alberto's early experience includes an internship at ULSS 2 Feltre, where basic clinical laboratory tests were learned, and research traineeships at the University of Ferrara, examining ionic currents in dopaminergic neurons. Alberto earned a Doctor of Natural Science in Neuroscience from Otto-von-Guericke University Magdeburg, a Master's degree in Biomolecular and Cell Science from Università degli Studi di Ferrara, and a Bachelor of Science in Biology from the same institution.
