Rachel Lippert

Junior Research Group Leader at German Institute of Human Nutrition

Rachel Lippert is a Junior Research Group Leader at the German Institute of Human Nutrition Potsdam-Rehbruecke since February 2020, leading the Neurocircuit Development and Function department as part of the NeuroCure Cluster of Excellence. The team focuses on brain circuit formation and the influence of maternal nutrition and metabolism on brain development using mouse models. Prior experience includes serving as a Postdoctoral Researcher at the Max Planck Institute for Metabolism Research, where research centered on the effects of high-fat diet exposure on the dopaminergic system, and participation in the Health Innovation Accelerator program at SPARK-BIH. Rachel Lippert earned a Ph.D. in Molecular Physiology and Biophysics from Vanderbilt University School of Medicine and holds a dual degree in Chemistry and English from Albion College. Rachel Lippert's early research experience includes studying enzyme applications for green chemistry during an internship with the National Science Foundation.
