Field Service Specialist, Asia Division

Job Overview: You’ll be part of the leading experts in environment that pride themselves on grit, integrity, ownership, and innovation. You will perform routine preventive maintenance and repairs at all Germfree Equipment, Mobile Laboratories, and Modular Laboratories. Ensure that all equipment and building systems operate efficiently and safely. This position requires travel but could be domestic or worldwide depending on the need. This is a great opportunity for someone who likes to travel and interact with different cultures. We make sure that our team members are allotted time to see the local sites and take in the local culture. For the domestic travel we try and have team members home on weekends.

Responsibilities and Duties:

• Will be traveling up 75% of the time
• Respond to customer requests for maintenance/repair as needed; inspect and diagnose problems indoors and outdoors and determine options for correcting them.
• Perform troubleshooting, inspection, maintenance, and safety tasks based on maintenance schedule provided
• Prioritize workload according to maintenance schedules
• Requisition service, supplies and parts as required (obtain proper approval)
• Coordinate and schedule vendors for large or difficult repairs or work requiring a special license
• Assist with cross departmental tasks as required
• Parts shipping
• Use of laboratory software
• Basic knowledge of Excel, Word, and Outlook
• Properly respond to client emails
• Set and level trailer laboratories
• Write service/expense reports
• Other reasonably related duties

Required Skills and Abilities:

• Ability to work without direct supervision
• Professional manner
• Active Florida Driver’s License and insurable
• Good oral communication skills with all departments and customers
• Technical and mechanical aptitude
• Ability to use shop mathematics
• Ability to operate hand and power tools in accordance with general safety principles
• Basic reading and comprehension skills; ability to write legibly
• Ability to understand and follow instructions
• Detail and quality-results oriented
• Good troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
• Ability to read and understand blueprints
• Ability to use and read measuring instruments accurately in both U.S. Standard and Metric
• Awareness of general safety principles in a working environment
• Reliable transportation to work
• Ability to complete tasks working with others and independently
• Work overtime as required
• Basic computer skills required
• Physical abilities: hearing; seeing; lifting, pushing, and pulling 50 pounds; crouching; bending; twisting; kneeling; squatting; crawling; walking; standing for long periods; reaching in all directions; balancing; manual dexterity; hand/eye coordination, climb ladder; lay on a mechanic’s creeper and move about while performing tasks with tools; tolerate varying ranges of temperature in an outdoor environment.

Education and Experience:

• High School (GED) or Vocational School graduate
• Working knowledge of general maintenance and repairs including basic electricity, plumbing, air conditioning and must be mechanically inclined. Cleanroom and HEPA filter understanding, electrical trade experience, and HVAC experience would be a plus.

Supervision Required: Low – Ability to work independently or with others to complete tasks.
