Prashant Golash

Prashant Golash has a wide range of work experience in the technology industry. Prashant started their career as a Software Engineer at Cisco Systems in 2008, where they worked until 2010. During this time, they gained experience in software development.

After their time at Cisco Systems, Prashant joined Microsoft in 2010 and worked as an SDE and later as an SDE-II. At Microsoft, they primarily focused on the Active Directory component of Windows Server, working on areas such as the Ldap protocol, replication over RPC transport, and authentication and security protocols.

In 2013, Prashant joined BloomReach as a Technical Lead. Here, they worked on various projects involving Hadoop jobs, mapreduce jobs, and developing a scoring algorithm for generating related products.

In 2014, Prashant returned to Microsoft as a Senior SDE, where they worked until 2017. During this time, they gained experience in working on different projects within the company.

In 2017, Prashant joined Uber as a Senior Software Engineer in the Core Ad Platform team, where they worked on making Euclid services, ETL pipelines, and Kafka topics all active across multiple data centers.

Prashant continued their journey at Uber by transitioning to the Data Infra team, where they worked as a Staff Software Engineer and later as a Staff Tech Lead Manager. In this role, they worked on various projects related to cost savings, reliability, improved resource management, and YARN preemption.

In 2021, Prashant joined Netflix as a Senior Software Engineer, working on the BigData Platform team and focusing on the BigData Orchestration platform.

Most recently, in 2022, Prashant became a Founding Engineer at Bluesky, specializing in warehouse optimization and model optimized concurrency level.

Throughout their career, Prashant has gained extensive experience in software development, big data platforms, distributed systems, and infrastructure optimization.

Prashant Golash completed their B.Tech in Computer Science & Engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology (Indian School of Mines) in Dhanbad from 2004 to 2008. Prior to that, they attended R.C School Chachai and completed their Higher Secondary degree in Mathematics from 1992 to 2004.

Additionally, Prashant has obtained certifications such as "Functional Programming Principles in Scala" from Coursera in May 2018 and "SnowPro Core Certification" from Snowflake in May 2022. Prashant also holds a certification in "Cisco Certified Network Associate Industrial (CCNA I)" and "IVCA (Infovista Certified Administrator)," although information about the institution and the year of obtaining these certifications is not provided.
