THE POSITION

In support of a high-growth mandate, we’re hiring for the position of Director, People and Culture to help us build a high-performance, values-driven and inclusive culture.  This is a newly created, high-impact role on our nimble and mighty People and Culture team reporting directly to the Chief Operating Officer. In this position, you will play a key role in shaping and fostering an environment that attracts, engages, and develops top talent, allowing you to make a significant impact on people’s health and well-being, and our broader healthcare system. 

Critical to success will be your passion, leadership, and experience in building frameworks and environments that enable teams to thrive and succeed. You possess a positive attitude and learning mindset, coupled with a thirst for growth and continuous improvement, as you take on accountability for the success, performance, and growth of the Maple team. A strategic thinker and operator, you will leverage your people leadership capabilities to evaluate the ongoing needs of our teams, while simultaneously developing, coaching, mentoring and growing the existing team, successfully ensuring the organization is equipped and empowered to drive the business forward. You enjoy balancing the delivery of short-term and long-term impact, and you’re able to succeed in a smaller and highly hands-on team.

 12 – 18 MONTH DELIVERABLES

To realize the company’s growth mandate, within the first 90 days, and in partnership with the Chief Operating Officer and other key stakeholders, you will have developed a clear, thorough, and holistic current-state assessment of our talent acquisition, engagement, and growth pillars to inform future strategy and goals to meet business needs. You will also have begun to deliver impact by implementing quick wins and measuring progress and ROI.

In the next 12 to 18 months, you will have implemented the appropriate strategies, resources and metrics to optimize and scale our recruitment, hiring, talent engagement and development functions, including institutionalizing processes to measure success, establishing aspirational yet attainable targets to track improvements, strategically allocating resources to maximize ROI, and delivering a results-driven organization that is able to scale with the company. 

CANDIDATE PROFILE

  • The ideal candidate has 10+ years of experience in Human Resources, Organizational Development, or related fields, with at least six years in a people leadership role, demonstrating a track record of effectively leading and developing teams. In addition, the candidate has direct experience leading a Human Resources/People function, preferably in a scale-up environment.
  • Using exceptional communication, impact and influence, and interpersonal skills, the ideal candidate is able to articulate and champion our values and culture across all levels of the organization.
  • The ideal candidate demonstrates strong business acumen coupled with the ability to develop and execute people strategies that drive business results and support organizational growth.
  • The ideal candidate has hands-on experience in talent acquisition, talent development, and employee engagement, with a proven track record of attracting, retaining, and developing top talent.
  • The ideal candidate possesses expertise in leveraging data and analytics to drive decision-making and measure the effectiveness of people initiatives.
  • The ideal candidate brings experience in working with hybrid and remote employees, showcasing adaptability and effectiveness in diverse working environments.
