Jim Skopek has worked in the IT industry since 1999. Jim began their career as a Systems Analyst at Strategic Resource Solutions in 1999, where they provided desktop, laptop, server, WAN (Frame Relay) and telephone system support to 5 office sites, comprising approximately 400 users. Jim then moved to Cardinal Health in 2002, where they were a Senior Helpdesk Analyst responsible for organizing a new IT Helpdesk supporting 530 users. From 2003 to 2006, Jim worked at GlaxoSmithKline as a Level 3 Analyst - Tech Support, providing level 3 support to 8,000 user US sales force. In 2006, they joined GFI Software as a Security Products Specialist, working with customers for advanced configuration of SIEM (Centralized event collection and analysis), Patching and Vulnerability Scanning (Windows, MAC, Linux), Web monitoring, and endpoint device control products for compliance. Jim then became a Senior Technical Support Analyst and Technical Support Representative, providing technical support for GFI Security Products. Jim then moved to Cisco in 2016, where they were a Network Security Analyst (Tier 2) for Cisco Active Threat Analytics. In 2018, they joined the United States Postal Service as a Threat Detection Analyst.
Jim Skopek completed their Bachelor of Applied Science (B.A.Sc.) in General Engineering at the United States Military Academy at West Point between 1973 and 1977.
