John Niland

John Niland has a strong background as a network engineer, with experience at three different companies. John currently holds the position of Senior Network Engineer at Gigstreem, starting in October 2022. Prior to that, they worked at netBlazr as a Senior Network Engineer from November 2020 until July 2023. Before netBlazr, John worked as a DIA Network Engineer at Granite Telecommunications from October 2016 to November 2020. At Granite Telecommunications, they managed customers' networks on all layers of the OSI model, handled technical escalations, and implemented new technologies such as network automation with Python to improve team efficiency.

John Niland began their education at Sacred Heart High School, where they graduated with a high school degree in 2012. John then pursued a Bachelor of Science (BS) in Computer Science at the University of Massachusetts Amherst from 2012 to 2016.

In terms of additional certifications, John obtained the Cisco Certified Entry Networking Technician certification from Cisco in July 2017. In September 2017, they also achieved the Cisco Certified Network Associate Routing and Switching (CCNA Routing and Switching) certification. Additionally, in September 2019, John obtained the Cisco Certified Network Professional Routing and Switching (CCNP-RS) certification from Cisco, as well as the MEF-CECP certification from the MEF Forum.
