Adam Takos

Adam Takos is a Principal Organism Engineer at Ginkgo Bioworks, Inc., since March 2022, with a substantial background in genetic research and biotechnology. Previously, Adam held positions as Senior Scientist and Research Scientist at SNIPR Biome, focusing on developing a new generation of medicines, and as Senior Scientist at Evolva SA, where passion for discovery and innovation was emphasized. Adam served as Associate Professor at the University of Copenhagen, leading projects that utilized genetic tools to identify key genes in plant secondary metabolism, including significant genomic discoveries in Lotus japonicus. Early career experience includes a postdoctoral position at CSIRO Plant Industry, identifying regulators of flavonoid biosynthesis, and a research scientist role at GroPep Ltd., leading a team to produce recombinant peptide growth factors. Adam holds a PhD in Biotechnology from Flinders University.
