Karen Tepichin

Karen Tepichin is the General Counsel at Ginkgo Bioworks. Karen was previously a Partner at Foley Hoag LLP, where they advised public and private companies in the life sciences and technology industries in strategic transactions, focusing on licensing and collaboration arrangements, option agreements, material transfers, research agreements and supply and distribution agreements. Karen also contributed to the development of clients' best practices and standard form agreements in these areas.

Prior to their time at Foley Hoag, Karen was an Associate at Ropes & Gray LLP. Karen also worked as a Teaching Fellow in Economics at Harvard University and as a Research Assistant at Harvard School of Public Health.

Karen Tepichin received their Juris Doctor from Harvard Law School and their Bachelor of Science from Duke University in Biology and Economics. Karen is licensed to practice law in the state of Texas and is certified by the Massachusetts Board of Bar Overseers.
