Janet Ridenour has extensive experience working with the Girl Scouts organization. Janet began their career with the Girl Scouts of Shagbark Council in 1979, where they served as an Assistant Executive Director for over 20 years. Janet then joined the Girl Scout Council of Colonial Coast as a Deputy Director - Program from 2000 to 2005. Janet went on to become the Chief Executive Officer of the Girl Scouts of Singing Sands Council from 2005 to 2008. Janet then served as the Chief Membership & Program Officer at the Girl Scouts Heart of Michigan from 2008 to 2009. Following that, they joined the Girl Scouts of Connecticut as the Senior Director of Program Services from 2011 to 2016, and later became the Senior Director of Mission Delivery starting in 2016. Their most recent role is as a retired Go-Getter, Innovator, Risk-Taker, and Leader at Girl Scouts since 2017. Throughout their career, Janet has demonstrated their dedication to the organization's mission and has successfully led multiple departments and worked closely with boards of directors.
Janet Ridenour obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in Education from Southern Illinois University, Carbondale in the years 1975-1979. Janet later pursued a Master's degree in Public Administration, with a specialization in Not-for-Profit Administration, from the same university from 1989 to 1992. Janet also holds a certification as a Certified Girl Scout Executive Officer from the institution Girl Scouts of the USA, although the specific year of obtaining this certification is not provided.
