Girls Who Code is searching for a proven, results-oriented project manager to serve as Senior Manager, Program Strategy Delivery. Supporting project management across all core programming, the Senior Manager will ensure that key organizational milestones are met and supported by effective systems of accountability.  Reporting to the Chief Program Officer , the Senior Manager will ensure that high-quality programs are delivered efficiently at scale. They bring experience in project management and a commitment to the Girls Who Code mission.

The successful candidate has at least 6 years of demonstrated experience managing projects in a dynamic, metrics-driven environment.

This role is NYC based and requires 2 days in-office per week.

Responsibilities: Program Execution -Develop a master timeline of key organizational milestones aligned with established annual goals -Coordinate deadlines and deliverables among verticals and other departments to keep project management and program delivery on track -Surface key learnings to inform ongoing discussions with the CPO and Programs Leadership Team to support adjustments in strategy to ensure programmatic success, long-term effectiveness and organizational efficiency at scale -Establish and execute a project management framework that will be easily understood and adopted across multiple teams -Manage special projects as assigned by the CPO, driving the end-to-end scoping, planning and management of projects to produce high-quality, timely deliverables

Responsibilities: Strategic Management -Collaborate with CPO on strategic planning and goals setting activities for the team -Work with CPO to create materials, resources, and other assets to support the Girls and Alumni Programmatic Committee of the Girls Who Code Board of Directors -Continuously reflect on opportunities to maintain high levels of program quality at scale -Summarize complex information into concise bulletins for the Executive Leadership Team, Board, and other critical stakeholders. 

Responsibilities: Team Collaboration -Support regular communication across the Programs Teams regarding shared goals and progress toward goal attainment; ensure that conversations are grounded in and informed by relevant programmatic data -Effectively facilitate and lead cross-functional meetings, engaging stakeholders at various levels within the organization to foster collaborative decision-making and ensure alignment on key initiatives. -Surface key decision points for CPO consideration and involvement -Develop systems for cross-team communication and serve as Programs Team liaison to key internal stakeholders -Establish accountability systems to ensure that program execution remains on track and that there are clear signals when the work is off track

Qualifications

  • 6 years prior project management experience
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent professional experience
  • Outstanding project management skills, excellent in managing shifting timelines and priorities, able to accurately and thoroughly follow-through, able to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines
  • PMP certification preferred and comfort with a range of project management tools
  • Strategic thinker with ability to manage short-term needs with long-term planning and growth over time
  • Detail-oriented; superb organizational skills a must
  • Thrives in dynamic environment; able to work effectively under pressure to meet tight deadlines and goals
  • Desire to learn and grow; team player with a flexible, creative, and analytical approach to problem solving
  • Successful track record in setting priorities, shaping processes, and executing quickly and effectively
  • Demonstrated experience with problem solving and creative management of multiple issues at once
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills; strong ability to diplomatically manage interactions with individuals at all levels and job functions Knowledge of and/or interest in computer science, technology, and/or education preferred
