Jochen Albrecht

Jochen Albrecht is currently serving as the President of the GIS Certification Institute (GISCI) since August 2022. Prior to this role, they have been working as a Professor at Hunter College since August 2004.

Jochen Albrecht's education history begins in 1982 when they obtained a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) degree in Geography from the University of Hamburg, Germany. Jochen continued their education at the same university and completed a Master of Arts (M.A.) degree in Geography from 1984 to 1986. Later, Albrecht pursued a higher level of education at the University of Vechta, Germany, where they earned a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) degree in GIScience from 1992 to 1995.

Additionally, in 2017, Jochen Albrecht obtained a certification known as GISP from the GIS Certification Institute (GISCI).
