Catherine Mwendwa

Catherine Mwendwa has a wealth of work experience, beginning with their role as Office Administrator at Timwood Products Ltd in 2007. From 2010 to 2015, they worked as a Research Assistant at PRECISE Communications and a Researcher at UNDP Kenya. In 2011, they began working at East Africa Philanthropy Network as a Program Officer, and in 2016, they began working as an Individual Consultant - Research at Wasafiri Consulting Ltd. In 2019, they became a Non Executive Board Member and Research and Stakeholder Engagement Specialist at Wasafiri, and a Programmes Manager at East Africa Philanthropy Network. Most recently, in 2022, they became the Hub Director - Africa at GivingTuesday.

Catherine Mwendwa has an extensive educational background. In 2018, they completed a Senior Fellowship at The Graduate Center, City University of New York in Community Philanthropy. From 2009 to 2012, they earned an M.A. in International Conflict Management from the University of Nairobi. Catherine also holds a Bachelor of Arts in Public Administration and Sociology, which they obtained from the University of Nairobi between 2004 and 2007. Additionally, they have certifications in Communication and Business Skills, Diploma in Information Technology, and Resources and Strategies for Building Sustainability in Philanthropic Institutions.
