Project Coordinator, Knowledge Management at GivingTuesday

Dion McDougal has a diverse work experience in various roles and organizations. In 2017, they worked as a Junior Research Analyst at LMCi and as a Research Assistant at SIBIS-Institut. In 2018, Dion McDougal joined Team Rubicon UK as a Disaster Responder and later took on the role of Tech and Innovation Coordinator within the same organization. During this time, they deployed to Indonesia and Mozambique, coordinated with partners, and worked on data analysis and system improvements. In 2019, Dion McDougal worked as a Co-Founder at Internativa CIC, where they focused on providing exchanges and training opportunities for excluded youth. They completed several projects, including intercultural training for youth in different countries. They also worked as an EU Project Assistant at Active Bulgarian Society, participating in training modules to promote inclusion and youth empowerment. In 2020, Dion McDougal joined the World Food Programme as a Research, Assessment & Monitoring Trainee, contributing to various projects and supporting innovation and knowledge management. In 2021, they worked as an NGO / HADR Coordinator at SES Satellites, where they furthered an ESG/CSR program and designed disaster risk reduction solutions. Most recently, Dion McDougal worked as a Senior Research Analyst at LMCi and focused on knowledge management projects. They are currently working as a Project Coordinator for Knowledge Management at GivingTuesday.

Dion McDougal's education history includes earning a Master of Arts degree with a specialization in Humanitarian Action (H-AID) from the University of Groningen in 2020-2021. Prior to that, McDougal pursued an Erasmus Mundus Joint Master's degree in Humanitarian Action at the Ruhr University Bochum from 2019-2021. McDougal's undergraduate studies were completed at Goldsmiths, University of London, where they obtained a degree in Anthropology and Visual Practice with a focus on Cultural Anthropology from 2014-2017.
