Tan Madhavan has worked in a variety of roles since 2012. In 2012, they began working as a Freelance Business Consultant, providing business and marketing strategy, analytics, and behavioral economics. In 2014, they became a Clinical Psychologist at Sapthagiri Institute of Medical Sciences and Research Centre, where they were the Head of Psychology in the Department of Psychiatry and an instructor for 1st year medical, nursing, and physio-therapy students. In 2015, they became a Partner and Strategic Advisor at Adventure Worx. In 2019, they joined the Live Local Think Global Committee Member at Immigrant Welcome Center and the Partnerships Team at TEDxIndianapolis. They also served as a Programs and Services Intern at The International Center (Indianapolis). In 2020, they became Co-Founder of Élay Products. In 2021, they became Executive Producer at TEDxBloomington. Finally, in 2022, they became Academic Research Partnerships Manager at GivingTuesday and a Member Board of Directors at BrainSTEM Alliance.

Tan Madhavan has obtained three master's degrees. In 2019, they completed a Master of Business Administration from Butler University - Lacy School of Business. Tan also holds a Master's degree in Psychology from Indira Gandhi National Open University and a Master of Arts in English Language and Literature from Nagpur University.
