Phil Sharp

Phil Sharp has a diverse work experience in various roles and companies. Phil is currently the Senior Director of Product at Glance since December 2023. Prior to this, they took a sabbatical from August 2021 to December 2023.

Phil worked at Google for a significant duration, holding multiple positions. Phil was the Senior Product Manager on ChromeOS from June 2019 to July 2021. Phil also served as the Head of Product for Google Arts & Culture, overseeing product direction and managing a team of product managers from November 2017 to May 2019. Before that, they were a co-founder of the Area 120 project, where they pitched a consumer-facing product idea and led a team to prototype and test the concept. Phil also worked as the Founder and Product Lead for Google Chat, where they developed the initial product vision and managed the direction of the team before launching on multiple platforms. Additionally, they gained experience as a Product Manager for Gmail and Inbox, playing a key role in the initial Inbox launch and owning various features.

Before joining Google, Phil worked at IDEO as a Senior Product Designer and Design Team Lead from June 2006 to June 2011. Prior to that, they served as a Product Designer from March 2004 to May 2006.

Phil Sharp earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering, with a minor in Computer Science, from the University of Utah in 2001. Phil then pursued two Master of Science degrees at Stanford University, one in Management Science & Engineering, and the other in Mechanical Engineering with a focus on New Product Development, completing both in 2004.
