Richard Kalnins

Richard Kalnins has a diverse work experience spanning over several industries. Richard began their career in 2005 as a Contributing Writer for airBaltic, where they wrote monthly feature articles, published blog posts, and prepared promotional articles. In 2011, they joined the Latvian Institute as the Director of Communications and Public Relations, overseeing international communications and managing Latvia's nation branding strategy.

In 2012, Kalnins joined the Investment and Development Agency of Latvia as the Global Communications Manager, where they promoted foreign direct investments and facilitated Latvian exports abroad. Richard also delivered presentations, drafted speeches, and produced promotional videos for the agency.

In 2013, they joined Tilde ~ as the Global Marketing Communications Manager, responsible for marketing communications activities. Richard later held positions as the Business Development Director for Machine Translation Solutions and as the Head of Machine Translation Solutions.

In 2018, Richard Kalnins became the VP of Strategic Accounts at Unbabel, a company that eliminates language barriers using AI and human editors for translations. Richard was responsible for strategic accounts and ensured efficient and high-quality translations.

Most recently, in 2023, Kalnins joined Glean as a Strategic Account Executive, focusing on strategic account management.

Richard Kalnins completed their Bachelor of Arts degree, magna cum laude, in Philosophy at DePaul University from 1997 to 2002. Richard also participated in a Foreign Study Program at The University of Bonn, focusing on German Language and Literature, during an unspecified duration. Additionally, in 2003 and 2004, Richard received a Fulbright Fellowship under the Fulbright U.S. Student Program, where they studied Literature and Language.
