Hemanshu Nigam

Hemanshu Nigam is a highly experienced legal professional with a focus on cyber security, privacy, and human rights. Currently, Hemanshu serves as a Partner and Firm Board Member at Venable LLP and as an Independent Assessor of Human Rights of Freedom of Expression and Privacy with the Global Network Initiative. Hemanshu founded and led Cyber Security Affairs, providing legal and investigative services. Previous roles include Chief Security Officer at both News Corporation and MySpace, where oversight of safety and privacy for millions of users was paramount. Hemanshu also held various directorial positions at Microsoft Corporation, focusing on consumer security and child safety. Academic contributions include serving as an Adjunct Professor of Law and guest lecturing at esteemed institutions. Hemanshu holds a Juris Doctor from Boston University School of Law and a Bachelor of Arts from Wesleyan University.
