Staff Software Engineer at Global Payments Integrated

Eoin McGonagle has accumulated a diverse range of work experience over the years. In 2006, they started their career at Stream International Ltd as an IT Support Professional, where they diagnosed and troubleshooted computer issues over the phone. Eoin also performed team lead duties as a Heatcheck Champion.

In 2008, Eoin worked as a Graphic Web Designer at CYBEAR DESIGN LTD, where they redesigned the company's website and updated client websites. Eoin also created flash elements for client websites.

From 2009 to 2012, Eoin worked at Egton as a Systems Support Consultant and later as a System Support Filter Consultant. In these roles, they advanced their diagnostic skills and ordered necessary hardware components for repairs. Eoin also communicated with internal and external departments to resolve technical issues.

Eoin joined EMIS in 2012, initially working as an EGSD Senior, where they provided technical leadership and support for approximately 1800 customers and staff. From 2015 to 2016, they took on the role of EGSD Team Leader, which included additional responsibilities such as managing sickness reporting, leave requests, and participating in recruitment processes.

In 2016, Eoin worked as an IT Support Technician at Terex Corporation, diagnosing and troubleshooting IT software and hardware issues for users via telephone and in person.

In 2018, Eoin became an IT Trainer at EMIS Health, providing IT training to GPs and surgery staff across Northern Ireland. Eoin also worked with health service organizations and other third-party suppliers.

In 2019, Eoin joined TSYS as a Software Engineer, where they worked with C# .Net/.NetCore stack and applied behavioral-driven design and object-oriented analysis. Eoin mentored and supported software engineers, ensured best practices and coding standards were followed, and participated in feature development and bug fixes.

Most recently, Eoin joined Global Payments Integrated in 2022 as a Staff Software Engineer, contributing their expertise to the team.

Eoin McGonagle has a diverse education history. Eoin obtained a Master's Degree in Professional Software Development from Ulster University in 2018-2019, focusing on Computer Software Engineering. Prior to that, they pursued a Master's Degree in Music from Ulster University for the duration of 2007-2009. Eoin also holds a Bachelor's Degree in Music from Ulster University, earned between 2003-2006.

Before attending university, Eoin completed their secondary education at St Columb's College. In 2002-2003, they obtained an A Level, studying Art, Music, and Computing. In the previous academic year of 2001-2002, they earned an AS Level with a focus on Art, Music, and Computing as well. Furthermore, they completed their General Certificate of Secondary Education (GCSE) from St Columb's College between 1996-2001, covering subjects such as Art, Music, French, Maths, English, Double Award Science, History, and Religion.

In addition to their formal education, Eoin has also acquired several certifications. Eoin obtained HTML Fundamentals and Java Tutorial certifications from SoloLearn in October 2017. In November 2016, they received an ITIL 2011 Foundation certification from PEOPLECERT. Furthermore, in August 2016, they became a Professional Member (MBCS) of BCS, The Chartered Institute for IT.
