Rick Trauernicht Msc

Rick Trauernicht MSc has extensive work experience in security risk management and compliance. Rick currently works at GlobalConnect as the Security Risk & Compliance Director, overseeing global security operations. In their previous role at Colt Data Centre Services, they served as the Head of Security Operations for Europe, where they implemented a governance program and developed an innovative operations and governance software tool. Prior to that, they worked at VSG Vision Security Group as a Security Contract Manager for The Walt Disney Company, managing security services across multiple countries. Rick also has experience as a Security Risk Manager at Bilfinger Europa Facility Management, overseeing personnel security and implementing security initiatives. Their career began in the British Army, where they served as a Communications Specialist in the Corps of Royal Engineers.

Rick Trauernicht MSc has a Master's Degree in Security and Risk Management from the University of Leicester, which they obtained from 2014 to 2016. Prior to that, they completed a CCNA certification in Cisco Certified Network Associate from The Open University in 2010. In 2007, they attended the Royal School of Military Engineering in the United Kingdom and focused on Communications & Information Systems. Rick completed their A Levels, which included subjects like Afrikaans, English, Maths, Technical Drawings, Civil Engineering, and Science, at Technical High School Potchefstroom in South-Africa from 1994 to 1997. Rick Trauernicht also holds additional certifications, such as ISO 27001 Internal Auditor from BSI in 2019, BTEC Level 3 Advanced Award in Security from Edexcel in 2013, and Communications, Command and Information Systems from the British Army in 2006.
