Poonam Benjwal

Poonam Benjwal is a seasoned professional in the fields of materials science and technology transfer, currently serving as a Senior Section Manager at GlobalFoundries since October 2024. Prior to this role, Poonam was a Patent Analyst and Technology Transfer Lead at the Office of Intellectual Property and Technical Licensing (IPTeL), IISc Bengaluru, where responsibilities included leading the licensing and commercialization of technologies and managing legal cases related to patents. Poonam's experience also includes a position as Principal Engineer at Western Digital, focusing on ultra-high density data storage technology, and as a Metrology/Process Engineer at a stealth mode startup developing advanced memory technology. Earlier positions included research and project assistant roles at the Indian Institute of Technology, Kanpur, and the Indian Institute of Technology, Madras, respectively. Poonam holds a PhD in Materials Science from the Indian Institute of Technology, Kanpur, and a Master's degree in Materials and Metallurgical Engineering from Thapar Institute of Engineering & Technology.
