Tom Giovagnoli

Creative Director, Copy at Globalization Partners

Tom Giovagnoli has a diverse work experience spanning over several decades. Tom is currently serving as the Creative Director - Copy at Globalization Partners since August 2022. Prior to this, Tom founded Laws of Attraction in 2016, where they held the roles of Founder, Creative Director, and Writer. During their tenure at Laws of Attraction, Tom created, developed, and launched Smiles & Frowns®, a positive behavior platform and iOS app. Tom has also worked as a freelance Senior Creative Director for various agencies including Karsh-Hagen, Motive Studios, Match Marketing Group, Ogilvy, H&L Partners, Barkley, and Driver Digital.

Before Laws of Attraction, Tom co-founded Phun&Dunn in 2013, where they served as the Co-Founder and Director of Things Creative. Phun&Dunn operated as a creative collective, providing agency services to brands such as Duvel USA, Sonoma Valley Museum of Art, and education.com.

From 2009 to 2012, Tom worked at Anthem Worldwide (Creative Agency Division) as the Executive Creative Director and VP. Tom joined the agency, formerly known as Real Branding, and successfully led the rebuilding of the creative and development team. The agency was then acquired by Schawk/Anthem in 2010.

Prior to their role at Anthem, Tom worked at Ogilvy West as the Senior Partner and Creative Director of the San Francisco office from 2007 to 2009. In this role, they restructured and managed a creative department of over 20 people. Tom led the development and production of fully-integrated work for Yahoo! brands, covering various marketing channels.

Before their time at Ogilvy West, Tom worked as a Freelance Creative Director at Goodby Silverstein & Partners from 2005 to 2007. Tom played a key role in winning the HP PC business and co-created the launch work for the "Computer is Personal Again" global television campaign.

From 2000 to 2005, Tom served as the Group Creative Director and Senior VP at McCann SF. Tom led the creative development and execution of national and global campaigns for Microsoft, including the "MSN Butterflies" and Windows "Start Something" campaigns. Tom also managed nearly a billion dollars in media work and gained extensive experience in global work development and internal promotion.

Prior to McCann SF, Tom worked as a Creative Director, VP at BBDO NY from 1992 to 1998. Tom began their career in advertising as a Copywriter and later became a Group Head at JWT, DDB, EJL, and WB Doner in Chicago and Detroit from 1988 to 1992.

Tom Giovagnoli has a degree in journalism and advertising from the University of Missouri-Columbia. The start and end years of their education have not been specified.
