Solace Shen

Solace Shen has extensive work experience in the field of research and user experience. They are currently employed as the Head of UX Research at GlossGenius since October 2022. Prior to that, they worked at Robinhood from January 2018 to October 2022, initially as a User Experience Researcher and later as a Senior User Research Manager. Before joining Robinhood, Solace was a Postdoctoral Research Associate at Cornell University from January 2016 to December 2017. They also served as a Predoctoral Research Associate and Ph.D. Candidate at the University of Washington from September 2009 to December 2015. Additionally, they worked as a Marketing Research Specialist at Pentair from September 2004 to August 2007, and as a Research Analyst at Global CONNECT at the University of California, San Diego from April 2003 to June 2004.

Solace Shen earned a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) degree in Asian Studies from California State University, Sacramento in the years 2000 to 2002. From 2002 to 2004, Shen pursued a Master of Pacific International Affairs degree with a focus on International Management at UC San Diego. Finally, Shen completed a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Human-Robot Interaction and Developmental Psychology at the University of Washington from 2009 to 2016.
