Nicole Zajack is the Associate General Counsel, Global Employment & Compliance at Glossier. Nicole has been in this role since January of 2017 and is responsible for employment-related issues among a partially unionized, multi-state workforce of 15K. Nicole provides legal counsel on a range of harassment, discrimination, investigations, performance management, joint employment, leaves of absence, accommodations, wage and hour, terminations, union avoidance, and general legal compliance.
Nicole has developed and implemented numerous employment practices and policies during their time at Smart & Final, including a robust arbitration program, work-from-home policy, and a pilot seating program. Nicole also spearheaded the alternative workweek election. In addition to developing policies, Nicole has also partnered with HR on company-wide employment training, including wage & hour and workplace safety. Nicole has also provided ongoing training for the HR team on employee relations and investigations to address obligations, gaps, business needs, and continued optimization of training processes for a large workforce.
Nicole has also supervised workplace investigations and managed all single-plaintiff, PAGA, and class-action litigation. Nicole has navigated race and harassment issues and federal and state administrative complaints and demand letters. Nicole has also resolved PAGA suits, class actions, and a Pick Up Stix campaign related to drivers. In addition to these responsibilities, Nicole has also managed site closures and reductions in force.
Nicole has represented S&F in the 2020 sale of Smart Foodservice Warehouse Stores to US Foods (NYSE: USFD) for $970M. Nicole also
Nicole Zajack graduated from New York University with a BA and then went on to get their JD from University of California, Los Angeles - School of Law. Nicole also has a Management Program from University of Southern California - Marshall School of Business.
Nicole Zajack reports to Kathryn Hines Ordower, General Counsel. They work with Aileen Taboy - Head of Regulatory Affairs, Samantha Kingsley Reilly - Associate General Counsel, and Aditi Venkatesh - Deputy General Counsel.
