Andy Dempsey

Andy Dempsey is an experienced leader in the public service sector, currently serving as the Director of Partnerships and Strategy at Gloucestershire County Council since August 2018. Previously, Andy held the position of Director of Children's Services at Torbay Council from July 2016 to July 2018, and served as the Director of Children and Young Peoples Services at St Helens Council from January 2012 to January 2016, a statutory role as DCS. Andy's career at St Helens Council began in 1994, where roles included Head of Neighbourhoods, Community Safety and Youth Services until November 2011. Educational qualifications include a Master’s Degree in Child Care Law and Practice from Keele University, a Post Graduate Diploma in Public Service Leadership from Lancaster University, an MSc in Occupational Health and Safety from The University of Salford, and a BSc (Hons) in Industrial Technology and Management from the University of Bradford.
