Pieter J. Peeters

Pieter J. Peeters serves as the Head of Discovery Sciences and Vice President at Galapagos since June 2023. Prior to this role, Pieter held various senior leadership positions at Janssen, Pharmaceutical Companies of Johnson and Johnson, including Senior Director in High Dimensional Biology & Drug Discovery Data Sciences, Computational Biology, and Integrative Systems Biology. Pieter was also a Director of Functional Genomics & Molecular Profiling, leading teams focused on discovering and validating novel targets and biomarkers across virology, neuroscience, and oncology research. Additionally, Pieter served as a Board Member at Janssen Pharmaceutica NV from May 2018 to March 2023 and held key roles in Johnson & Johnson Pharmaceutical Research & Development, as well as VIB. Pieter earned a PhD in Biomedical Sciences and an Engineer degree in Molecular Biology/Engineering from KU Leuven.
