Alkarim Jiwa

As Managing Director, Head of Canadian Equity, Alkarim Jiwa leads the firm’s Canadian equity strategies and is the lead manager of the Premium Income and Dividend Distribution portfolios.

Alkarim has over 20 years of experience in the financial markets. Prior to joining Gluskin Sheff in 2018, he worked at BMO Global Asset Management as the lead portfolio manager for the BMO Private Canadian Income Equity Portfolio and manager of the BMO Canadian Alpha Plus Fund. He also served on the BMO Global Asset Management Asset Allocation Committee. He began his career at Manulife Financial in their actuarial rotation program where he worked in Reinsurance, U.S. Individual and Asset Liability Management.
