Sangeeta Bhatia

Co Founder, Head of SAB at Glympse Bio

Sangeeta Bhatia has a long and distinguished career in the medical and technology industries. Sangeeta began their career in 1999 as an Associate Professor of Bioengineering & Medicine at the University of California, San Diego. In 2005, they moved to the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, where they served as Professor and Director of the Marble Center for Cancer Nanomedicine. In 2008, they co-founded Hepregen, where they were also the Head of the Scientific Advisory Board (SAB). In 2013, they were appointed as a Member of the Board of Scientific Advisors at the National Cancer Institute (NCI). In 2015, Bhatia was appointed as a Fellow and Board of Trustees Member at Brown University, and also joined the Board of Directors at Vertex Pharmaceuticals. Sangeeta simultaneously co-founded Glympse Bio and served as the Head of the SAB. In 2020, they co-founded Satellite Bio, and in 2022 they co-founded Port Therapeutics.

Sangeeta Bhatia began their education at Brown University, where they earned a Bachelor of Science (BSc) from 1986 to 1990. Sangeeta then moved on to Massachusetts Institute of Technology, where they obtained a PhD and MS in Biomedical Engineering and Mechanical Engineering between 1991 and 1997. Finally, they completed their Doctor of Medicine (MD) at Harvard Medical School between 1997 and 1999.
