Yinghua Sun

Senior Vice President of Product Development at Glyphic Biotechnologies

Yinghua Sun has had extensive work experience in the field of biotechnology and engineering. Yinghua began their career in 2000 as a Visiting Scientist at Stanford University, where they led projects on reliability evaluation of integrated circuits (CMOS) and semiconductor devices. Yinghua then moved on to the University of Southern California in 2002 as a Graduate Research Assistant. In 2006, they became an Assistant Project Scientist at the University of California, Davis. In 2010, they joined Thermo Fisher Scientific as a Staff Engineer. From 2011 to 2018, they were a Staff Engineer at Illumina, where they worked on optical technologies, system architecture, fluorescence microscopy, sensor, and photonics. Yinghua was also involved in the technology and product development of top DNA sequencing platforms. In 2018, they became the Head of Technology Development at a Stealth Biotech Startup. Most recently, in 2022, Yinghua Sun was appointed as the Senior Vice President of Product Development at Glyphic Biotechnologies.

Yinghua Sun obtained a Ph.D. in Materials Science from the University of Southern California between 2002 and 2006. Before that, they earned a Master in Electrical Engineering from Beijing University of Technology and a B.S. in Precision Instrumentation, with a major in Optoelectronic Technology, from the Harbin Institute of Technology.
