Kai Falkenberg

General Counsel at G/O Media

Kai Falkenberg is the current General Counsel at G/O Media. Prior to their current position, Falkenberg served as the First Deputy Commissioner/Acting Commissioner of the NYC Mayor's Office of Media and Entertainment from January 2016 to December 2018. In this role, Falkenberg was responsible for overseeing NYC Media, the country's largest municipal broadcast network.

Falkenberg has extensive experience in negotiating deals and launching new projects. Kai was instrumental in bringing the Grammy awards back to NYC after 15 years and was responsible for expanding the Agency's role into emerging industries like podcasting and virtual reality. Kai is also a strong advocate for supporting local journalism and ethnic media in New York City.

Kai Falkenberg began their educational career at Horace Greeley High School. Kai then attended Dartmouth College, where they earned a BA in Government and French. Finally, they attended Columbia University School of Law, where they earned their JD.

They work with Michael Dugan - CTO, Angela Persaud - SVP, Head of People, and Adelina Pepenella - CFO. Their manager is Jim Spanfeller, CEO.
