Jennifer R. Smith

Jennifer R. Smith is an accomplished legal professional with extensive experience in providing legal assistance to low-income communities. Currently serving as the Executive Director of the Legal Aid Foundation of Santa Barbara County since July 2018, Jennifer leads a nonprofit organization dedicated to ensuring equal access to justice. In addition to this role, Jennifer has been a Planning Commissioner for the City of Goleta since February 2017. Jennifer's previous positions include Employee & Labor Relations Specialist at UC Santa Barbara, and various roles within the Legal Aid Foundation of Santa Barbara County, including Managing Attorney. Jennifer's legal expertise encompasses a range of areas, including housing, labor relations, and health law. Jennifer earned a Doctor of Law (J.D.) with a Public Service Certificate from the University of California, Davis, and a Bachelor of Arts (BA) in English from UC Santa Barbara.
