Michael Baris is an experienced emergency services professional currently serving as the Emergency Services Coordinator for the City of Goleta since October 2018. In this role, Michael acts as a liaison between city residents, the city, and county government, while also collaborating with city council members to develop an emergency preparedness workplan. Previously, Michael worked as a Logistics Coordinator for Doctors Without Walls - Santa Barbara Street Medicine, where responsibilities included volunteer management and logistical operations. Michael’s earlier roles include serving as an Emergency Services Planner for the Santa Barbara County Public Health Department, where significant contributions were made to public health emergency preparedness plans and training initiatives. Michael gained foundational experience as an intern with Catholic Charities Missouri and as an Exercise Design Intern at Barnes-Jewish Hospital. Michael holds a Bachelor of Science in Emergency Management from Saint Louis University.
