Maisam S. Raza

Maisam S. Raza is currently working as an Associate Portfolio Manager at Golub Capital, where they lead a 10-person Canadian portfolio management team. Golub Capital is a direct lender and credit asset manager with over US$60 billion of capital under management.

Prior to their current role, Maisam worked at KPMG as a Senior Manager in Deal Advisory - Valuations from October 2021 to May 2022. They also held the positions of Manager in Deal Advisory - Valuations from October 2019 to October 2021, Senior Consultant in Deal Advisory - Valuations from April 2018 to September 2019, and Senior Consultant in US M&A Tax Services from April 2016 to March 2018. In these roles, Maisam gained experience in cross-border tax planning, transaction structuring, due diligence, and modeling for mergers, acquisitions, and reorganizations.

Before joining KPMG, Maisam worked at Scotiabank as an Analyst in Regulatory Initiatives from July 2014 to August 2015. They also gained experience as a Jr. Financial Analyst (Co-op) in the Energy and Utilities Sector at DBRS from January 2014 to April 2014 and as a Business Development Associate (Co-op) at DBRS from May 2013 to August 2013. Additionally, Maisam worked as a Compensation Analyst (Co-op) at Technip from May 2012 to August 2012.

Maisam S. Raza started their education at King's College London from 2007 to 2010, where they pursued a Bachelor of Laws (LL.B.) degree with Honours, focusing on the field of Law. Following this, from 2011 to 2016, they attended the University of Waterloo, graduating with a Bachelor of Mathematics (BMath) degree with Honours in Mathematics with Business Administration. During their time at the University of Waterloo, Maisam participated in a co-op program. Maisam S. then went on to complete the Level 1 exam of the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) program, successfully passing it through the CFA Institute. Most recently, from 2020 to 2022, Maisam attended the University of Toronto - Rotman School of Management, where they obtained a Master of Finance (MFin) degree.
