Denise Piña

Internship Coordinator at GoodCall

Denise Piña is Good Call’s Internship Coordinator. She is in charge of curriculum building and growth of the internship program and maintaining key partner relationships.

Denise came to Good Call from Good Shepherd Services-Chelsea Foyer where she served as a Runaway and Homeless Youth Case Manager and Independent Living Counselor. Her work there involved developing individual resident action plans for housing, medical services, and life skills. She has held other social work-related positions with Bronxworks, NYC Dept. of Education, LeAp at MS22, Cardinal McCloskey Community Services, and Little Flowers Children and Family Services.

Denise graduated from SUNY Plattsburgh with a BA in English Writing and a Minor in Biology. She went on to earn her Master’s degree in Social Work concentrating on families, children, and youth from Hunter College.Though she currently lives in Brooklyn, she is planning to return to her hometown of The Bronx, with her young daughter. One of her personal advocacy goals is to bring more services and resources to The Bronx, especially for youth.
