Lilia B Abbud

Lilia B Abbud has a diverse work experience spanning over 30 years. Lilia B began their career in 1990 as the Director of Financial Operations at the El Paso Lighthouse for the Blind, where they managed the agency's operating budget and financial analysis. From 1995 to 1997, they worked as a Staff Accountant at Nelan & Lyons, LC, CPA's, responsible for tax preparation and audits. Lilia then spent two years as a Senior Accountant at Lauterbach, Borschow & Co., where they prepared tax returns and financial reports.

In 1999, Lilia became the Director of Finance and Administration at Loretto Academy, where they oversaw all financial and human resource activities for the private school. Lilia B implemented new processes to improve tuition revenue collections and cash flow, and developed budgets and internal controls.

From 2005 to 2016, Lilia held the role of College Administrative Officer at The University of Texas at El Paso, where they managed a $30MM operating budget and provided strategic planning support. During this time, they improved the administration of financial and business operations.

Lilia then worked at the American University of Sharjah from 2016 to 2018, initially as a Volunteer in the International Exchange Office, where they cleaned up data and improved data entry processes. Lilia B later served as a Budget Analyst and Instructor, providing business administration expertise to reorganize processes and restart operations in university departments.

In 2018, Lilia held two roles simultaneously. Lilia B served as the Sr Director of Physical Plant Business Services at the Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center El Paso. Additionally, they acted as the Director of Accounting & Finance (acting CFO) for Goodwill Industries of El Paso Inc., where they provided financial leadership and developed cash flow projections and budgets.

Throughout their career, Lilia has demonstrated strong financial management and strategic planning skills, as well as the ability to improve processes and implement effective controls.

Lilia B Abbud holds an MBA degree in Accounting and Finance from The University of Texas at El Paso.
