Barsana Riyaz

Barsana Riyaz is an accomplished engineering leader with extensive experience in the technology sector. Currently at Google since March 2021, Barsana oversees GenAI and ML platforms, managing both first-party and third-party initiatives. Prior to this role, Barsana worked at Amazon Web Services from June 2019 to March 2021, successfully delivering new cloud products from inception to launch. At Expedia Group, Barsana held various positions from April 2011 to June 2019, including Engineering Manager, where oversight of the Local Experts Engineering Team was a key responsibility. Additional roles at Expedia included Senior Software Engineer and Software Engineer, focusing on features for lodging, pricing, and risk assessment services. Beginning a career at Expeditors as a Java Software Developer, Barsana contributed to the programming and release of shipment compliance tools. Barsana holds a Bachelor of Engineering degree in Electronics and Communications Engineering from the University of Madras.
