Sandy Conklin

Area Executive Director of Campus Leadership at Goose Creek CISD

Dr. Sandy Conklin joined the Goose Creek CISD as area executive director in July 2020. Dr. Conklin oversees a group of schools and partners with principals and staff to provide leadership and support for innovative practices that maximize student success. Dr. Conklin brings 16 years of administrative experience serving as principal of Northwest ISD’s Samuel Beck Elementary School and Prairie View Elementary School, as well as principal at Crowley ISD’s Parkway Elementary School and assistant principal at Crowley’s J. A. Hargrave Elementary School. He began his career in Pearsall ISD as a sixth-grade world cultures teacher. Additionally, he has worked in Grapevine-Colleyville ISD as a history teacher and coach and also served as an educator in Grand Prairie ISD. Dr. Conklin was selected as the 2016 H-E-B Excellence in Education Elementary Principal of the Year. He is passionate about professional learning and has presented across the state and nation on leadership, differentiation, and positive school culture. Dr. Conklin earned his doctorate in educational leadership from Nova Southeastern University. He holds a master’s degree in educational leadership and policy studies from the University of Texas at Arlington and a bachelor of science degree in elementary education with a middle school endorsement from the University of Northern Iowa.
