Michael Gossman currently serves as the Assistant City Manager for the City of Oceanside since January 2020 and has been involved with the Government Finance Officers Association (GFOA) since March 2016, contributing to the Committee on Governmental Budgeting and Fiscal Policy and instructing in the Budget Analyst Academy. Prior to their current roles, Michael held various positions with the County of Sonoma, including Deputy County Administrator, where efforts were focused on recovery initiatives following the 2017 wildfires, and Chairman of the Sonoma County Employees Retirement Association Board of Trustees. Michael's extensive experience also includes roles in finance and administration across multiple departments in Sonoma County and a background in marketing with Best Buy. Michael holds a Master's degree in Business Administration and a Bachelor's degree in Economics from Sonoma State University.
