OVERVIEW
The Pastor of Disciple Making is responsible for championing the multiplication of interpersonal and intergenerational disciple making at Grace Community Church by building a culture of discipleship throughout the church. He will also be a part of the Sunday teaching team.

You are committed to fulfilling the mission and ministry goals of Grace Community Church by collaborating with staff and volunteer teams. You are passionate about disciple making, shepherding adults in their walks with Christ to be disciples who make disciples. You are authentic, constantly learning and growing in your own personal walk with Christ. You are thoughtful, desiring to help people take steps towards Christ and grow as a disciple. You are skilled at handling the word of God and have a mastery of creating sermons and preaching. You derive great joy in shepherding God's people and equipping the saints for the work of ministry through teaching the word. While you could work anywhere, using your gifts for God’s Kingdom gives you the most joy and fulfillment. Most importantly, you believe the gospel is the most important message ever, so seeing it advanced and lived out in people’s lives is of the utmost importance to you.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Disciple Making
Supervision
Pastoral Responsibilities
Officiate weddings and funerals as necessary.
Make visitations and give pastoral care as necessary.
Serve in the rotation for pastor on call.
Teach as part of the Sunday teaching team.
COMPETENCIES
Effective communication to audiences of varying sizes in a variety of formats (staff, workshops, team training, Sunday morning)
Strategic thinking to lead the church in disciple making and scalable leadership to work together in this endeavor.
Experience in pastoral and care responsibilities (funerals, weddings, care)
Proven ability to teach and train.
Proven ability to build healthy, diverse teams.
In-depth understanding of Gospel fluency and its function in sanctification
Practices Emotionally Healthy Discipleship
Seminary degree (e.g., MDiv, Biblical Studies)
3-5 years of vocational ministry experience within a church setting
SCHEDULE
1x Per Week – Meet with Executive Pastor
1x Per Week – Attend the weekly All Staff Meetings on Tuesday mornings
1x Per Week – Attend the weekly All Staff Prayer Pause
1x Per Week – Attend Pastors Meeting
1x Per month- Meet with Lead Pastor
1x Per Year – Participate in the All-Staff Retreat, typically in June
Christmas Eve + Easter Sunday Gatherings
On-site on Sundays for all gatherings
Initiate / attend project specific meetings, departmental meetings as needed
Attend evening commitments as needed (e.g., Alpha)
