Laura Stanbery Nejedlik, Ph.D. has worked in various roles in the scientific and medical fields since 2008. In 2008, they were a Research Fellow at the University of Michigan, where they were responsible for determining the role of SEPT9_i1 over expression in breast cancer and investigating the molecular mechanism driving RhoC over expression in breast cancer. In 2013, they worked as a Cytogenetics at the University of Michigan, where they were responsible for the preparation of patient bone marrow and peripheral blood samples and the analysis of bone marrow malignancy samples. From 2014 to 2016, they worked as a Research Assistant at The University of Toledo and as a Customer Support Scientist at Rubicon Genomics, where their primary responsibility was to help customers utilize NGS library preparation technologies and to maintain SalesForce and curate a database of frequently asked questions and documents. From 2016 to 2019, they worked as a Postdoctoral Research Fellow at the University of Toledo Medical Center, where they were responsible for proposal, manuscript, and grant preparation and submission, as well as assisting in the evaluation of new clinical trial patients and regulatory interactions with the FDA and pharmaceutical sponsor evaluation. Currently, they are the Director of Scientific Liaison and Technical Science Associate at Gradalis, Inc., where they are responsible for the generation of high quality, medically accurate publications, reports, proposals, conference abstracts, and posters for Medical Affairs, as well as developing educational resources for external collaborations and internal colleagues.

Laura Stanbery Nejedlik, Ph.D. began their educational journey in 1999 when they earned a Bachelor of Science (B.S.) in Biology, Evolution Ecology and Organismal Biology from The Ohio State University. Laura then continued their studies at Western Michigan University, where they earned a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Biology in 2008.
