Bob Cotton

Bob Cotton is currently a distinguished engineer at Grafana Labs. Prior to this, they were a senior principal software engineer at Splunk from December 2018 to October 2022, where they were responsible for the design, scale, and overall direction of logging, metrics, and distributed tracing systems. From January 2017 to November 2018, Bob was the co-founder of FreshTracks.io, where they led a multi-functional startup from inception to product delivery of a SaaS based metrics and monitoring platform for Kubernetes based on Prometheus. Bob has also driven brand awareness by writing technical blogs, participating in open-source communities, and presenting at leading industry conferences.

Bob Cotton's educational career includes a BS in Computer Science from George Mason University.

Their manager is Anthony Woods, CTO & Co-Founder. They are on a team with Vardan Torosyan - Engineering Manager, Jack Westbrook - Senior Software Engineer, and Connor Lindsey - Software Engineer.
