Induja Rai has worked for a number of organizations since 2003, beginning with a Management Trainee role at Ashoka Trust for Research in Ecology and the Environment. Induja then took on a Management Trainee role at URMUL Trust in the same year. In 2004, they became a Programme Officer at International Network of Alternative Financial Institutions (INAFI). In 2005, they were a Consultant for Centre For Microfinance (CmF); APMAS, MP Ecotourism Development Board, Ministry of Health - MP. In 2007, they were a Program Officer at Oxfam. From 2011 to 2016, they were a Sr Manager - Program Funding (Affiliates) & Program Management and a Programme Coordinator at Oxfam India. Since 2016, they have been an Advisor at National Green Highways Mission, NHAI - MoRTH, GoI and a Director - Institutional Relations at both Grameen Foundation India and Grameen Foundation for Social Impact.

Induja Rai completed their MBA from the Indian Institute of Forest Management (IIFM) between 2002 and 2004. Prior to that, they obtained a Bachelor's degree in Psychology and Public Administration from Maharani College, Jaipur.
