Alex Forist

Alex Forist has a diverse work experience spanning different organizations. In 2004, they started as a Local History Aid at the Kalamazoo Public Library, where they worked until July 2006. They then joined Denver Water in June 2007 as a Record Tech I, until June 2008. Finally, they moved to the Grand Rapids Public Museum in July 2008, initially serving as a Collections Curator. Currently, they hold the position of Chief Curator, starting in February 2017. In this role, they manage the museum's collections, work with donors to acquire new artifacts, and ensure open access to the collections for the general public.

Alex Forist has a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) degree in History from Kalamazoo College, which was obtained from 2000 to 2004. Following this, Alex pursued a Master of Arts (M.A.) in History from Colorado State University from 2006 to 2008.
