Betty Bax is the Director of Philanthropy & Planned Giving at Grand River Hospital Foundation. Betty has over 20 years of experience working in fundraising and development in the Canadian post-secondary sector.

Betty began their career at the University of Waterloo in 1997 as an Alumni Services Officer in the Faculty of Applied Health Sciences. Betty later transitioned to a role as Communications Officer in the Faculty of Environment, before moving to Wilfrid Laurier University in 2011 to take on the role of Director of Development for the Lazaridis School of Business & Economics.

In their current role at Grand River Hospital Foundation, Betty oversees all aspects of philanthropy and planned giving, working with donors to create lasting legacies that support the hospital’s mission and vision. Betty is a passionate advocate for healthcare and believes strongly in the power of philanthropy to make a difference in people’s lives.

Betty Bax reports to Paul McIntyre Royston, President & CEO. They are on a team with Amanda Grydziuszko - Chief Human Resources Officer, Ashley Howat - Chief Hospital & Member Relations Officer, and Deborah Barton - Associate Director of Philanthropy.
