Job Summary:

Our Content Development team, which focuses on education content specifically, currently has an opening for a Publishing/Content Development Intern. We are looking for someone available to complete an 8-12 week internship.

As the Publishing/Content Development Intern, you would be primarily responsible for providing support services to Instructional Designers and Subject Matter Experts who create instructor resources and assessments (question banks). As a Publishing/Content Development Intern, you would gain knowledge about the content development stage of publishing and creation of assessment questions and other resources. The jobs you will work on will vary based on staff needs.

Some typical assignments include:

  • Formatting files for in-house staff or freelancers

  • Ensuring supplied content conforms to the publisher’s templates (file formatting, proper order of data fields)

  • Working with full-time staff to analyze and organize material on new projects

  • Performing basic quality checks on the content provided by our writers

  • Preparing summary data on question types, cognitive levels, etc.

  • Performing QA checks on final deliverables

Microsoft Office is used extensively for these tasks.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree or working toward a bachelor’s degree. All disciplines are welcome, especially those that promote critical thinking.
  • Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Office.
  • Excellent oral and written communication; must be able to listen, write, speak effectively and facilitate communication in a timely manner.
  • Strong grammar skills.
  • Detail-oriented and able to quickly identify and correct inconsistencies.
